Meet Dr. Derek Schmidt

Dr. Derek Schmidt is a lifelong Waukesha resident, from his days at Rose Glen Elementary all the way through his graduation from Waukesha West High School in 2006. He rose through the ranks of the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, Dr. Schmidt is still active with the organization today.

After high school, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in biology from Michigan Technological University, where he was both a member of the football team and an assistant coach for the local high school. While home from school on break, he worked for Oral Maxillofacial Associates of Waukesha as a surgical assistant. Dr. Schmidt earned his DDS from Marquette University School of Dentistry in the spring of 2014 and is a member of the ADA, WDA, Waukesha County Dental Society, Academy of Osseointegration, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, and spending time with his friends and family. He is very involved in the community and participates in the Mission of Mercy on a yearly basis.
